The Southern Bicycle League presents the 38th Annual
|
"A Need for a Cure" - Ties that Bind TNT - Wilson 100 Won’t you come and be a part of this year’s 37th Wilson 100... This event is sponsored by the Southern Bicycle League with the corporation of the Georgia Chapter Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Team in Training. Team in Training began in 1988 in Rye, New York with only 38 people. Since that time, LLS has seen more than 420,000 advocates training for marathons, triathlons, century rides, bike rides, and hiking adventures. These TNT activists have now raised ONE BILLION DOLLARS to support blood cancer research and patient services. In the State of Georgia, alone, 1,000 people have been associated with Team in Training and have raised almost $3,000,000. The continued need for a "cure" is critical! Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children, and someone new is diagnosed with blood cancer every 4 minutes. The Wilson 100 Century will have six Rest Stops for those bicycling the full 100 miles. The personnel are Maureen Davidson, LLS Campaign Director, and as in 2009, a local Boy Scout Troop, Maggie Sweeney (Cake Hag) will be "Present & Accounted for" at Concord, and Joyce & Paul Jones at the Opera House in Hollonville. Please give them a "HI 5" for giving us a helping hand! You might remember as you pedal, SCOTT WILSON – THE SBL's REASON FOR THE WILSON 100 CENTURY. He's one of the many good folks that have passed away from cancer, but please remember, there’s still no cure! LLS needs your support in this life saving cause, and TNT athletics, the best of the best! |
